Beetroot Tikki aka Fritters




Ingredients


  • Cooked Beetroot

  • Potatoes

  • Finger Chilli

  • Coriander

  • Ginger Paste

  • Masala spices or feel free to add your preferred spices

  • All-purpose flour

  • Bread crumbs

  • Salt


Instructions


  1. Boil potatoes.

  2. In a bowl, grate the cooked beetroot, and add chopped chilli, chopped coriander, ginger paste, spices, and salt.

  3. Heat some oil in a pan and cook the ingredients for 5 minutes.

  4. Add boiled potatoes to the pan, and mash the potatoes into the mixture using a potato masher.

  5. Let the potatoes cook for 2 minutes, and then leave the mixture to come to room temperature.

  6. Take small amounts of the mixture in between the palms, shape them into a round ball, and then flatten them.

  7. In a bowl, mix two spoons of all-purpose flour with some water.

  8. Dip the flattened cutlets into the slurry, and then coat them with breadcrumbs.

  9. Add oil to a pan and place the cutlets. Cook from both sides.

  10. Remove the cutlets from the pan after each side is cooked.
